Uninstall your Norton device security product on Mac
To uninstall your Norton device security product, you must know the Mac Administrator account username and password. This is usually the username and password you use to log in to your Mac.
You must restart your Mac after you uninstall your Norton product.
To ensure continuous protection, we recommend you keep your Norton device security application installed on your Mac.
Uninstall Norton device security
Before you follow the below steps, ensure that you close your Norton application, if it is already opened.
- On your Mac, click the Finder icon in the dock, and then click Applications in the left pane under the Favorites section.

Scroll down and right-click on the Norton application icon and click Move to Trash or Move to Bin.

Do one of the following based on your macOS version:

If you have macOS 10.15.x (Catalina) or a later version, click Continue to allow your Norton product to remove the system extension.

If you have macOS 10.14.x (Mojave) or earlier version, go to step 4.

When prompted, type your Mac administrator account password, and then click Ok.

In the window that appears, click Uninstall.

When prompted, type your administrator account password, and then click Install Helper.

Click Restart Now.
