Enable Secure VPN with the Norton UWP app on Windows
You may receive an error message when you try to connect to your VPN on your device. To help fix this VPN connection issue, you must restart your device. For more information, read Unable to connect to VPN on my device.
When you use an unsecure wireless connection, your Internet service provider (ISP) and websites can interpret sensitive details like your location, chats, and emails. You are vulnerable to hackers who seek to monitor and steal your information. Norton creates a Virtual Private Network (VPN) that encrypts your sensitive data. It lets you use a wireless connection in a secure way.
Turn on Secure VPN
-
Open your Norton device security product.
-
In the My Norton window, next to Secure VPN, click Turn On.
If your connection still remains unprotected, select Open.
-
In the Secure VPN window, slide the VPN switch to ON.
-
Toggle the Ad Tracker Blocking switch to block or allow ad tracking.
The Ad Tracker Blocking option blocks targeted advertisements. However, a small number of websites require Ad Tracker Blocking to be disabled to work properly. If you trust these websites, you can turn off Ad Tracker Blocking.
When you receive an alert from Norton that a man-in-the-middle attack is detected, select the recommended action from the alert window.
