Message: "Contact with the Norton Family server has failed..." when registering Norton Family

Depending on your device, select one of the following:

Windows PC

Check the date and time on the computer

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. Type in the following text, and then press Enter.

    timedate.cpl
  3. Check that the day, month, and year are correct.

    If the date is incorrect, change the calendar to the correct day, month, and year.

  4. Click Apply, and then click OK.

iPhone or iPad

To resolve this issue, switch network connection from the mobile network to the wireless connection or vice versa. If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the Norton Family companion app.

Uninstall the Norton Family companion app

  1. On the Home screen, tap and hold on to the Norton Family icon until it jiggles.

  2. In the top-left corner of the app icon, tap X.

  3. Tap Delete to confirm.

  4. Restart the device and install the Norton Family companion app.
