Error: "Re-activate to repair" when activating Norton Utilities Premium or Norton Utilities Ultimate

This error might occur if there are multiple Norton Utilities licenses or an expired license in your account. To fix this problem activate the product with the active Norton Utilities Subscription. If you don’t have an active Norton Utilities Subscription, purchase a new one or renew an existing subscription.

Check your subscription status

  1. Sign in to your account.

  2. Hover the mouse over your name at the top-right corner and click My Subscriptions.

  3. On the My Subscriptions tab, check your subscription status for "Norton Utilities Premium" or "Norton Utilities Ultimate".

    If your Norton Utilities subscription is not active or expired, you may need to click History to check the status.

  4. Depending on your subscription status, do one of the following:

    • If your subscription is expired, click Renew Now and follow the on-screen instructions to purchase the renewal.

    • If you have a valid subscription for Norton Utilities, follow the below steps to activate the Norton Utilities product:

Norton Utilities Premium is no longer part of Norton Extras. If you received your Norton Utilities Premium as part of Norton Extras, please note that the associated product key will no longer work. The Norton Utilities entitlement and the associated product key will appear disabled in the My subscriptions page of your Norton account. In this case, you cannot use the product key for activation. We recommend that you purchase a new Norton Utilities subscription.

Activate Norton Utilities Premium or Norton Utilities Ultimate

  1. Sign in to your account.

  2. Hover the mouse over your name at the top-right corner and click My Subscriptions.

  3. On the My Subscriptions tab, scroll down till you see Norton Utilities Premium or Norton Utilities Ultimate. You can find the product key right next to the product. Write down or copy the product key.

  4. Open Norton Utilities product.

  5. Click on the help icon present on the top-right corner of the screen.
  6. Click About Norton Utilities Premium or About Norton Utilities Ultimate.

  7. In the Norton window, click Change Key.

  8. Enter the Norton Utilities product key that you copied and click Finish Activation.

If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the Norton Utilities product.

Uninstall Norton Utilities Premium or Norton Utilities Ultimate

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

  2. In the Run dialog box, type in the following text, and then press Enter:

    appwiz.cpl
  3. In the list of currently installed programs, click Norton Utilities or Norton Utilities Premium, and then click Uninstall or Change.

  4. Click Yes to confirm.

  5. When the uninstall finishes, exit all programs and restart the computer.

Reinstall Norton Utilities Premium or Norton Utilities Ultimate

  1. Sign in to your account.

  2. Hover the mouse over your name at the top-right corner and click My Subscriptions.

  3. On the My Subscription page, under Norton Utilities Premium or Norton Utilities Ultimate, click Download.

  4. In the Get Started window, copy the Activation Key that is provided as you need to enter it during the activation process.

  5. Click Agree and Download.

    Click the License and Services Agreement link and read the agreement before you download and install your Norton product.
    Press Ctrl + J key, to open the Downloads window in your browser and double-click the file that you downloaded.
    If the User Account Control window appears, click Continue
    Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
