Repeated Norton Full Disk Access prompt appears when you open Norton on macOS 13 or later

Your Norton product repeatedly prompts you to allow and enable Full Disk Access, even after enabling it on your Mac. It is an operating system issue that occurs whenever you open your existing Norton product after upgrading your operating system to macOS 13 (Ventura) or later.

Depending on your operating system version, select one of the following:

macOS 14 Sonoma

If you have upgraded your operating system to macOS 14 Sonoma, make sure that you update your operating system to the latest version (macOS Sonoma 14.2). For detailed steps on updating your macOS to the latest version, refer to the Apple Support article.

After updating your operating system to macOS Sonoma 14.2, follow the below steps to avoid receiving repeated Norton Full Disk Access prompts.

  1. Open your Norton device security product.

  2. In the Full Disk Access prompt, click Open Settings.

  3. In the Full Disk Access window, next to Norton System Extension, move the slider to Turn On.

Before following the steps below, make sure that you close your Norton product if it is already opened on your Mac.
  1. Open your Norton device security product.

  2. In the Full Disk Access prompt, click Open Settings.

  5. Close the System Settings window.

  6. Close and re-open your Norton device security product.

  7. Click Open Settings in the Full Disk Access prompt.

  8. In the Full Disk Access window, next to Norton System Extension, move the slider to Turn On.
