Transfer a Norton license or duplicate license that came from a service provider

If you have obtained your Norton license from a service provider, follow the steps to cancel or transfer the duplicate license.

If you have purchased your product from the Norton Online Store or from a retail store, see How to transfer your Norton service to a new device.

I need to cancel the duplicate Norton service

  1. Contact your service provider to cancel the duplicate Norton service.

  2. After the duplicate Norton service is inactivated, you will receive the alert, "Your service was cancelled." In the drop-down, select Re-activate, and then click OK.

I need to purchase a license for my new computer

  1. Re-download and install Norton on your new computer.

  2. In the main screen, click Activate Now.

  3. Click Next.

  4. In the My service PIN field, type the PIN number, that is provided to you by your service provider.

    If prompted, enter a computer name.

  5. Click Activate.

    You will see the option to either purchase a new license or transfer a license.

  6. Under Purchase Another License, click the link and follow the on-screen instructions.

I need to transfer a license to a new computer

  1. Re-download and install Norton on your new computer.

  2. In the main screen, click Activate Now.

  3. Click Next.

  4. In the My service PIN field, type the PIN number, that is provided to you by your service provider.

    If prompted, enter a computer name.

  5. Click Activate.

    You will see the option to either purchase a new license or transfer a license.

  6. Under Transfer a License, find the name of the computer from where you want to transfer the license, and then click Deactivate.
