Fix profile installation issues

Use the information below to resolve issues that you may notice while installing a profile on your child's device.

You see this message if another MDM profile is already installed on the device. Follow these steps to remove the existing one and add the Norton profile.

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap General > tap Device Management or Profile > Management Profile.
  • Tap the existing profile and delete it.
  • Open the Norton Family app.
  • Tap the menu icon, tap Install Profile, and follow the on-screen instructions.

This occurs if the MDM server is down or not responding to the requests due to some connectivity issue. Retry after some time by following these steps:

  • Open the Norton Family app.
  • Tap the menu icon, tap Install Profile, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Check your device's Internet connection and try the following steps:

  • Open the Norton Family app.
  • Tap the menu icon, tap Install Profile, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Server_Unavailbale

There was a problem contacting our servers. Please try after some time.

  • Open the Norton Family app.
  • Tap the menu icon, tap Install Profile, and follow the on-screen instructions.

If you see a blank screen on your Settings app, try installing the profile following these steps:

  • Open the Norton Family app.
  • Tap the menu icon, tap Install Profile, and follow the on-screen instructions.

This can happen due to back-end issues such as the following:

  • The Certificate is not associated with the environment
  • The Profile list does not match the environment
  • An existing MDM profile conflicts with the new one.

Try installing the profile again after some time.

MDM_Install_Error When an existing third-party app on the device uses ScreenTime API, Norton Family MDM Profile installation fails with the message "Mobile Device Management is not allowed".
MDM enrolment may also fail if another MDM profile is already installed on the device.

Currently, Apple does not support MDM enrolments on devices that have Screen Time API enrolments and vice versa. Please check if you have installed any app that uses ScreenTime enrolment.
