Before you upgrade to macOS Big Sur, run LiveUpdate and install all the available updates for your Norton product.

Is my Norton product for Mac compatible with the new macOS Big Sur?
Your Norton product works on macOS Big Sur as long as you have the latest version installed. Run LiveUpdate and install all the available updates for your Norton product before you upgrade to macOS Big Sur.
Following Norton products are compatible with macOS Big Sur:

Norton 360 (8.6.0 or later)

Norton Security (8.6.0 or later)

Norton AntiVirus (8.6.0 or later)

Norton Internet Security (8.6.0 or later)
How do I update my Norton product for Mac to the latest version?
To update Norton to the latest version, do the following:

Open your Norton device security product.
If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

In the Norton product main window, click LiveUpdate.
Wait for the LiveUpdate to download install all the available updates.

When all the updates are complete, you are prompted to restart. Click Restart.

After you restart your Mac, in the Norton alert window, click Finish Setup.

In the Norton Update window, click OK.

In the Norton installation window, click Continue to allow Network Monitoring, and then click Allow.

To allow Full Disk Access, click Open Preferences to open the Security & Privacy settings.

In the Security & Privacy window, ensure that Norton System Extension is enabled. Navigate back to the Norton installation window and click Complete.
