Recover your vault password with Vault Access Recovery in Norton Password Manager
The Vault Access Recovery option in Norton Password Manager help you to setup a recovery key to get back into your vault if you forget your vault password.
To set up the recovery key to restore access to your vault, choose one of the following:
Norton Password Manager browser extension
Set up Password Recovery Key on your browser extension

Launch your browser.

Click Norton Password Manager on the top-right corner of the screen.

Do one of the following:

If you have signed in to your Norton account.

In the pop-up screen that appears, click Unlock vault.

If you have not signed in to your Norton account.

In the pop-up screen that appears, click Sign In and follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to your account.

In the Unlock your vault screen, enter your vault password, and click Unlock.

Click Norton Password Manager extension icon on the top-right corner of the screen and click Open Web App.

In the Settings window, under Vault Settings, next to Vault access recovery, click Set up now.
Enter the vault password if you receive a prompt and click Unlock.

In the Recover access to your vault screen, next to Download Recovery key, click Download PDF.
In the Download recovery key prompt, click Download.
A PDF file with a one-time vault recovery key is downloaded on your computer. Save this recovery key to recover access to your vault in case you forget your vault password.
You can only use this key once to recover access to your vault. Make sure to create a new recovery key after you changed your vault password.
Use Password Recovery Key to recover your vault

Click Norton Password Manager extension icon on the top-right corner of the screen and sign in to your Norton account.

In the Unlock your vault screen, if you forgot your vault password, click Forgot vault password?.

In the Recover vault access screen, click Use recovery key.

In the Enter your recovery key screen, enter the recovery key that was provided in the PDF file and click Next.

In the Create your new vault password screen, enter your new vault password and click Next.

In the screen that appears, click Unlock Now.

In the Unlock your vault screen, enter your new vault password, and click Unlock.

Set up Password Recovery Key on your mobile app

Open Norton Password Manager app on your mobile device.

Login to the Norton Password Manager app using your biometric credentials.

Tap the Menu icon on the top-left corner of the screen.

Tap Vault access recovery.

In the Vault access recovery screen, tap Recovery key.

In the recovery key screen, note down the one-time recovery key that appears and click Activate now.
For security reasons, copying the one-time recovery key is not allowed. -
In the Activate recovery key screen, enter the recovery key.

Click Activate.
In the prompt that appears, click Ok.

To create a new recovery key, go to Vault access recovery screen and tap Recovery key.

In the Recovery key screen, tap Create new key.

In the Create New Recovery key? pop-up that appears, tap Create.

Follow the on-screen instructions from Step 6 to 8 to create a new recovery key.
Use Password Recovery Key to recover your vault

Open Norton Password Manager app on your mobile device.

Tap Forgot your password.

Select Use Recovery key and enter the recovery key which was setup earlier. Users can also scan QR code from the downloaded recovery key PDF on NPW browser extension.

Create new vault password.
